Wild Plum Center provides early developmental services to qualifying expectant families and those with children 0- to 3- years old, including prenatal and post-partum support for pregnant women. Home-based services involve Family Mentors working with parents one-on-one in the home setting for 90 minutes each week. This program option is supplemented by group-delivered parent education and parent/child socialization activities with Family Mentors.

Home Visits: Each week a Family Mentor will meet with parents and children to provide guidance in child development and parent support services. These visits include:

  • An engaging play activity
  • Enriching parent/child interaction
  • Supporting parents to be their child’s teacher
  • Education in nutrition, health & wellness
  • Providing resources
  • Child development monitoring
  • Referral services
  • Family Goal support

Community Resources: Families are offered connections to community-based organizations that support their goals and needs.

Group Time: Join other families to share information about parenting and child development. Parents learn from and support each other, as well as enjoy educational events and activities.

Screenings: Family Mentors and families collaborate together using assessment tools to monitor child’s development. We also provide health, hearing and vision screening.
